Co-hosted by ICA SF and LUMA Hotel SF. Learn from artist Rupy C. Tut and make your own artwork!
Join us at LUMA Hotel San Francisco for an evening with local artist Rupy C. Tut, whose solo exhibition Out of Place currently on view at ICA SF explores the relationships between land, body, and belonging through an eco-feminist lens. Through her intricate works inspired by traditional Indian painting, Rupy preserves historic methods of making pigments while engaging critically with the gendered histories of her materials.
In conversation with the audience, Rupy will dive deep into her themes while she demonstrates her painting process, creating a new work of art in real time. This piece will be available to purchase via silent auction, benefitting ICA SF programming. Afterwards, participants are invited to paint their own artwork inspired by the conversation.
This event takes place in the LUMA Hotel’s first-floor COMMUNITY space, with curated wine offerings and small bites available from Trevino Wine Bar. Tickets are $20 per person and include admission and art materials.
ICA SF 901 Club Members Level 2 and up receive free admission and a complimentary glass of wine. Not a member of the 901 Club? Join online here.
