901 Club
Taking its name from our address—901 Minnesota Street—the 901 Club is our take on a museum membership program. ICA SF is committed to keeping admission free for all, and the 901 Club is a critical part of the support system that will allow us to do that. Join us to have some fun and learn about contemporary art, all while being philanthropic at the same time!

901 Club Programs 2023-24
Curious about the inner workings of the art collecting ecosystem? Collector Starter Pack is a new series that takes you behind-the-scenes through conversations with artists, collectors, gallerists, curators, auction houses, art advisors, and more. Through five thematic discussions, participants will have the opportunity to learn the how-tos of collecting contemporary art and understand how to be impactful collectors. This series takes place virtually on Zoom on select Thursdays in April and May with additional in person opportunities for studio visits, collection tours, and gallery walkthroughs.
The Collector Starter Pack challenges us to think deeply about what it means to be a mindful collector and impactful supporter in an ever-changing art world. This program is a pathway to learning about artists, galleries, and collecting practices.
901 Club levels with access to this program:
- Level 2 and up (access to in-person and virtual programs)
- Level 4 and up (access to collecting mentorship sessions).
All levels will have access to recorded virtual programs.
Generous support for the Collector Starter Pack is provided by Christie’s.
Many ICA SF supporters have busy lives. We get it; we do too! We invite you to explore the local, national, and international art world with us, just like curators do: at a fast, fun, and very active pace. We wish we had two weeks to see each place, but more typically we tend to dip in, dip out, and fill our days with art, food, shopping, work, and play. Join ICA SF Founding Director Ali Gass or Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs Christine Koppes on a range of adventures in the Bay Area and beyond as we do art fairs, studio visits, collection visits, museum tours, and more. Many of the itineraries involve preparatory research and planning work for the ICA SF exhibition program, so you will get access to a little behind-the-scenes curatorial action with this program as well. Depending on your 901 Club membership level, you can opt in or out as you’d like.
901 Club levels with access to this program:
- Level 5 and up (Bay Area travel)
- Level 6 and up (National travel)
- Level 7 (International travel)
