Talk:
She Bends will be in conversation with artist-in-residence Jude Abu Zaineh and artist & teacher Meryl Pataky. The discussion will cover the works exhibited and created in the residency and consider what it means to be changing the legacy of neon and how it is passed on and taught.
Films:
Las Vegas Bender featuring Leticia Maldonado
Las Vegas Bender is a documentary short film by Danny Corey, featuring She Bend’s artist, Leticia ‘Tiza’ Maldonado and executive produced by David Sadofsky, with an original score written, produced and performed by Bryan Curt Kostors.
Neos by Jess Krishelle Neos is a meditative short that explores the false dichotomy of art and science, the history of noble gases, the craft of Neon glass blowing and the future of the medium through intimate studio vignettes of people in neon.
She Bends is an organization dedicated to accessibility in neon. They support a network of women and gender-expansive artists who are bending their own neon and pushing the boundaries of their medium beyond the confines of commercial signage. She Bends works to build a more equitable future for neon through public education, preservation, and programs that foster diversity and sustainability.
